As I go through 1 Timothy 3 again, there are a couple of quick notes:
- I am working on making a case for women in ministry that show Paul is TRUE to calling for women IN ministry. It’s something I’ve always held to, but I want to use “THE” passage men often use to withhold ministry from women to demonstrate Paul could see further in the Kingdom and was working to build a new path where women would be part of church leadership.
- The second note is related to the first: the call of Christian leadership is to be faithful to Christ… and not hinder the Gospel. We really need to make it that simple and we keep refusing.
We make barriers and extra steps and so many other things to complicate the Gospel. Let the barriers come down. Jesus is inviting us on a powerful journey. Our job is to GET OUT OF THE WAY!
