So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. (Eph 4:17-18)
Once we step into light we realize how dark it has been in our lives.
When I have come to the end of Ephesians Chapter 3 each time I slow walk through Ephesians, I am left in awe. I am left in wordless awe. A deep praise that takes me into depths I cannot describe. As I walk through Ephesians, and have come once again to the end of Chapter 3, there I am again. Without words. Yet, profound worship.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus Vast unmeasured, boundless, free Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me Underneath me, all around me, is the current Of Thy love Leading onward, leading homeward to Thy glorious rest above
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, (Eph. 3:17-18)
I want my life swept up in the wonder of Christ’s love. To know the vastness of his love. To be lost in who he is. This is my prayer.
A few weeks ago I sensed the invitation of the Spirit to dive back into some “book studies” in my Bible study. They wouldn’t be as intense or “technical” as earlier in my life. This time, just dive in and see what the Spirit has to say. My journey for the next amount of time determined by the pace of the Holy Spirit is to walk back through Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.
I have finished my little project in Acts and am now making my way through Ephesians. This small letter has played such a massive role in my life in the past 20 plus years, it is a joy to walk through these passages again. I simply can’t grasp the majesty and wonder of what Paul poured into these words. Read more
