The task I have before me

A few weeks ago I sensed the invitation of the Spirit to dive back into some “book studies” in my Bible study. They wouldn’t be as intense or “technical” as earlier in my life. This time, just dive in and see what the Spirit has to say. My journey for the next amount of time determined by the pace of the Holy Spirit is to walk back through Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.

I am now in Ephesians and this is one of the books closest to my heart. There was a year quite awhile back where I was in my darkest valley and the Lord had me spend the entire year just in Ephesians. It brought life back into my soul.

Here I am again and as I slowly walk through this first chapter I am ignited in my passion for what lies ahead for me. There is a task I have before me.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment —to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. (Eph. 1:7-10, NIV)

My notes in this journey:

“My life can be so full. Full of goodness. Full of giftedness. Full of glory. Full of grace. His rich abundance has been poured into my life. His amazing salvation covers me. It pours over me. I need to lead others into the goodness of Christ.”

My life is so deeply touched by the abundance of God’s great grace. My task is simply to help others see the goodness of Christ. May my life find a way to quit goofing things up with my bad mistakes… and may the goodness of Christ shine through more and more in these years ahead.

This is the task ahead of me.
