1906

A body of thought is beginning to develop in my thinking and theology.

1906 was, for Pentecostals, a watershed year. It was Azusa Street. It was the outpouring of the Spirit and ushered in an unbroken time of renewal and missions in the church. It has been one long ride.

In that time period was the claim that “the color line was washed away by the blood of the Lamb” at Azusa Street because black and white worshiped together. Black and white preachers spoke.

It was also a time of elevating women in ministry.

It was ALSO a time where culture raged at both ideas: black and whites worshiping together and women having a “place.”

Some things are formulating in my thinking as I look back on what has been important to me in ministry… and what is important to me in the years ahead.
