The principle of sowing and reaping

It’s not about money. It’s about fruit.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Gal. 6:7-8, NIV)

We have results in our lives that are more like the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21) than the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-26), and we scratch our heads out of curiosity. Then, we think we’re “producing fruit” by taking the apples we think we are and taping them to the branches to the lemon tree we really are. The apples fall off, lemons keep popping up on the branches… and we keep scratching our heads.

We need to be the right spiritual DNA. It’s not the fruit. It’s the tree. What is your true spiritual DNA?

The principle of sowing and reaping gets beat to death when it comes to giving money. Let’s clean that up and realize it’s about what we are sowing in our lives. Are we sowing in the seed of the Kingdom? Are we sowing TO the Spirit?

I need to quit taping “the fruit” (like love or patience) to a rotten tree that continually produces anger and bitterness far more frequently. I need to tear out the tree of the works of the flesh and sow in the seed of the Spirit.
