Last week in a discussion with pastors, one mentioned why some things are so hard and the difficulty of training new leaders, etc. He simply left it with: “WHY?”
It doesn’t have to be that hard, but at times it sure feels that way. It feels like an uphill battle all the time.
This thought came to me: “It’s because we reward the doing and we haven’t blessed the being.”
Someone with the blessedness of presence, calling, steadiness… but a “small” church just won’t be the one we hear from in a conference or a denominational gathering of any size. We, quite simply, reward “size.” So… there is a major pressure point for so many.
These things just don’t need to be… but are… so, Lord, hear our prayer.
