The rest that waits for us

27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:27-30)

The boldness I can have in prayer, and in my life, comes from the understanding that ALL THINGS have been handed to Jesus… and he then invites me to come to him!

All has been given to him… and all is mine as a result. The wisdom I need for this day, the strength, the discernment, the giftings… all of it. Today. It’s mine. I can REST in him and know that all I need for what is ahead is given. My call is to trust him. My call is to listen and obey.

So, when he says, “Pray bold prayers,” I can rest in that action. If I am to speak to someone, I can rest in the words that will come.

A key phrase I must keep in my heart all the time from this passage: “Learn from me.

Jesus won’t “zap” me with all I need. I can learn from him as I walk.
