Fear drives politics. It raises money. It gets people turned toward an “enemy”… and then looking for “solutions.”

This is not the way of the Kingdom of God.

Russell Moore in his book, Losing Our Religion, tells the story of Jesus in Caesarea Philippi declaring that “on this rock I will build my church” and says that Jesus didn’t do so in some frenzied or frenetic way. Jesus simply declared his church would be built and not even the gates of hell could overturn that promise.

All we’ve done in our current climate is create fear and anxiety to raise money and point people against each other.

When we’re in fear or full of anxiety, we’re looking for solutions beyond Christ. We get tired of “turning the other cheek” or “loving our neighbor.” We’re off looking for other saviors!

Away with fear!

Christ declared his church would be built and even hell can’t hold that back.

Let it be ENOUGH in your life!
