8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, sympathetic, lovers of your fellow believers, compassionate, and modest in your opinion of yourselves. 9 Don’t pay back evil for evil or insult for insult. Instead, give blessing in return. You were called to do this so that you might inherit a blessing. (1 Pe 3:8–9, CEB)
I don’t need a “winning” mentality. I need a Kingdom mentality. My call is not to live in the DNA of this world or this culture. It is to live in the DNA of the Kingdom of God.
The DNA of this culture is anger, it is to divide, is to “conquer,” it is to have your side “win” and the other side “vanquished.”
The DNA of the Kingdom is to love, bless, walk humbly, and work for peace. This is not a “progressive” agenda. It is a Kingdom agenda. It is not accomplished by making sure “conservatives” don’t get their way.
The way of blessing and humility and peace is not easy. It is not “wishy washy” as ideologues would believe. This is the way of the Kingdom and it takes enormous strength.
I will not live for the “win.” I will live to bless.
