The end is near!

I’ve learned vocabulary during the time of COVID.

Variant.

I’ve re-learned the Greek alphabet. Delta. Omicron.

There is no way of knowing what’s next, but it seems the Omicron variant is on the downside and some doctors are surmising that a sense of this being “endemic” is now here. Yet another word!

Endemic: (of a disease or condition) regularly found among particular people or in a certain area.”complacency is endemic in industry today”

Bob Wachter, chairman of the University of California, San Francisco Department of Medicine: “It really does feel like the building blocks of a conversion from pandemic to endemic are all there,” Wachter said. But, he said, “over the past two years, if we’ve learned nothing else, it’s that this virus surprises us and there are always the possibility of new factors and curveballs.”

What we should understand, but in this time of huge division and even more massive egos we refuse to learn, is that we need to be HUMBLE. As Wachter said, the virus surprises. It throws curveballs.

But, we can hope.
