Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
I have walked with Christ for decades. I am still learning and revisiting ares of my life that need the work of the Spirit. Anxiety is one of those areas. Things I cannot control, I develop anxiety rather than trust. This is why Paul connects it to prayer.
Prayer is the place of power. It is the place of restoration. It is the place of perspective. It is in prayer I give these anxieties to the Lord.
Prayer is the place of rest. It is the place where I breathe, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing” and I find rest. He knows what to do, and I trust him.
For those times and places where I carry unnecessary burdens, prayer is the place of perspective.
