Talk to your soul

Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him. (Ps. 62:1-2,5)

We can speak to our soul. Often in Scripture the soul is something spoken to: “Bless the Lord, O my soul.”

“Why are you downcast, O my soul?”

“Yes, my soul, find reset in God.”

We need more soul talk. It is our operating system. Often there is a sense of something being “off” long before there IS something “off.” That is our soul acting as an early warning system.

Is it well with my soul? This is a question I often ask. “Soul, how are you?” (Not to be too cheesy, but basically, that’s how that conversation will go.)

Check in on your soul. There can be an uneasiness you sense when everything seems right. It just may well be your soul being a bit “off” in its operation and it’s giving you a warning light.

When the soul is well, then other things around you can be in disarray and you find peace beyond comprehension.

Talk to your soul.
