The wisdom we refuse

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. (1 Cor. 2:12, NIV)

Far too often I find myself desiring the wrong things. Too often the “wisdom” I chase is simply that of this world. The wisdom I refuse far too often is the gift given by the Spirit. The reason I refuse is too often I do not allow the work of the Cross to have its full work in me.

There is a simple truth in the Kingdom of God: ALL IS OURS. Yet, we settle for so little. We allow this world’s definitions, or this culture’s definitions, be our goal and achievement. The Kingdom of God offers so much more.

My constant battle is to refuse to settle for so little.
