Lent allows us to plow the soil of our hearts

Reading for today:

Psalm 72; 119:73-96
Gen. 42:18-28
1 Cor. 5:6-6:8
Mark 4:1-20

If we are walking through lent with an eye toward examination, the Spirit will help us see the condition of our hearts.

The parable of the sower in Mark 4 is a good reminder that the condition of our hearts needs attention. Are we allowing our hearts to be plowed up by the Spirit? Are we ready to hear his word to us? Are we ready to take in what is Kingdom and weed out what doesn’t belong?

Our hearts need the plow work of the Holy Spirit so we free ourselves of the normality of this world.
