Readings for today:
Psalm 37
Habakkuk 3:1-18
Philippians 3:12-21
John 17:1-8
Not that I have already attained this – that is, I have not already been perfected – but I strive to lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead, with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 3:12-15, NET Bible)
Jesus has laid hold of me. He has apprehended me. My life has been captured by this Beautiful Savior.
Lent is the opportunity to re-focus. It is my opportunity this year to truly become “single-minded.”
Let us strive… let us reach out… to apprehend Christ. There is an upward call of walking with him that is beautiful and strenuous.
“Grace isn’t opposed to effort. It’s opposed to earning.” — Dallas Willard
May my heart be filled today with the vision of Christ.
