Where is our sense of expectation?

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. (2 Peter 3:11-12a, NIV)

That phrase needs to haunt us:

What kind of people ought you to be?

In light of all that Christ has for you… in light of the work of the power of the cross in this world that has ushered in the power of the Kingdom of God… there is this burning question that needs to be in our hearts and minds: Has it REALLY made that much of a difference?

Not that there’s anything wrong with the work of the cross… but that if we call ourselves Christian… where is that difference?

Holiness. Godliness. Words that matter. Words that aren’t to be lightly looked over.

Has the cross really had its work in us?
