Choosing Peace

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.   I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled   and do not be afraid. (Jn. 14:27, NIV)

Peace isn’t the absence of turmoil. It is the state of being that lacks nothing and has no fear of being troubled in its tranquility.

You can have peace in the midst of a physically real battlefield. You can have turmoil while sitting beside a still lake.

We are not at pece with ourselves. We have witness all around us that we struggle with inner turmoil. We have a gift available from the Lord. Isn’t it time to open up that gift and use it?
