Another legend passes off the scene
His corner in heaven will need to be FAR from Larry Norman’s. This is also the wide difference between my wife and myself in people we admired growing up.
Larry Norman on the one hand, Bill Buckley on the other.
William F Buckley passed away this week. He was a master of vocabulary and could twist people up by his language. Too often I listened to him and asked, “Is that ENGLISH he is still speaking?”
But he was a champion. He could handle his own as a conservative in the most liberal venues. My greatest memory was seeing him in person at the University of Minnesota when I was a Bible college student. He was simply brilliant. He knew how to insult liberals and make them feel good about it.
There are icons for each age and Bill Buckley stands as a great conservative icon at the end of what may be the conservative age in the United States.
