  • Where is God’s Chest?

3 God’s lamp hadn’t gone out yet, and Samuel was lying down in the LORD’s temple, where God’s chest was. (1 Sam. 3:3, CEB) It just begs a lot of questions… and images my mind shouldn’t conjure up when it comes to God. I know “ark” may be archaic, but it HAS to be better than “chest.”

Well, no one else did. The NIV was king. Recently I have loved the banter between TNIV and ESV fans. (Banter is the nice word.…

  • New Book for Review Just Arrived

It’s actually a new translation called “The Voice” from Thomas Nelson. They sent me a complimentary copy for review. I admit, seeing one of the contributors (not one of the translators) had me skeptical. But I took it to my son’s swim meet tonight and read through some passages. I am pleasantly surprised! I look forward to a deeper look…
