  • Touching the leper

    We have struggles with how to “be the church” in western Christianity. Do we invite people to come in? Do we just plunge ourselves “out there”? How much do we get “involved” in other peoples’ lives? 

  • What ARE we called to?

    We have started a summer series at our church called “Tune My Heart.” We are looking at the Psalms and aspects of worship. This past week we had a guest, Todd Marshall, come and teach on “Worship is LIFE.” It was an incredible kickoff to our series.

  • My hardest struggle

    Over the years I have watched the Lord lead me to so many victories. I have been amazed at the process. This is truly a “long obedience in the same direction,” as Eugene Peterson would put it. Yet, I keep struggling with one basic thing.

    Romans 8 calls us to recognize the depths of God’s goodness and how he has empowered us for all things. It is a matter of choosing where you dwell.

    Eager to get on with the business of setting up the kingdom, the disciples have little time for people who do not wield political power.

    We too often “consider” the things of Jesus, or pick and choose what we think we may like about Jesus… and leave it at that.
