A new day for Nook
The Nook HD+ is on sale this week and Nook has really upped it’s game. This 9 inch tablet has 16 gb storage and just added the full Google Play store! I now have a full tablet without the huge price. This is a real treat for me, since I have had a Nook for two years now.

Prayers for the Day
Collect of the Day: Sixth Sunday of Easter O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord,…

You can have my job!
You want my job? You can have it! Not because I’m done with it. Not by a long shot. I love what I do. I get to teach college students as an adjunct faculty member. This past Friday was graduation and it was a bittersweet time of joy and the knowledge that my time with some of these great students was now over.…

Quote of the Day

Graduation Day
It’s Commencement for North Central University, where I teach as an adjunct. This class represents a significant number of students I have known their entire college career. Minnesota Fatalism
We have reached new levels of fatalism in Minnesota. It is May 2. When I woke up this morning, I carefully made my way to the back door, braced myself, then looked out. Seeing no snow, I almost screamed, “YES!” It’s been a long winter.

There is ALWAYS Something to Attack
Just when I think I find something new to explore, to look at and see if it something that begins to describe what I am sensing in my own spiritual life, along comes an attack on that exact position. Anthony Bradley takes a swing at the terms “missional” and “radical” and calls it the “new legalism.” Just when I was…

Let’s go on a journey
For my church, I am planning the summer schedule. Last summer we went on an incredible journey through the New Testament. Several asked about the Old Testament. Since the Old Testament is quite a bit longer, I’ve been thinking about a couple of things and would love your thoughts ESPECIALLY if you are a part of our church. 1. A…

The Care of the WHOLE
I am continuing a series on Acts and the Holy Spirit this Sunday. As I reflect on Acts 4:32 to Acts 6:8 as a unit, I think to how we have made Christianity such a dichotomy in the western Church. For Pentecostals, I’ve grown up with everything about Christianity being about “soul winning.” It’s about saving souls. When other “liberal”…
