The disappointment of the American Church

The Lord loves his Church. He has worked through all her failures over the centuries. He will still work with this current slice of the Church.

I dated a note in my digital Bible when I read this passage:

Isaiah 5:5–7 (NIV)

⁵ Now I will tell you 

what I am going to do to my vineyard: 

I will take away its hedge, 

and it will be destroyed; 

I will break down its wall, 

and it will be trampled. 

⁶ I will make it a wasteland, 

neither pruned nor cultivated, 

and briers and thorns will grow there. 

I will command the clouds 

not to rain on it.”

⁷ The vineyard of the Lord Almighty 

is the nation of Israel, 

and the people of Judah 

are the vines he delighted in. 

And he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; 

for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.

The note read:

God WILL deal with his people. He WILL deal with American Church. He will lay us waste of need be! (7/24/19)

We need to understand the deep love of God for this world and his desire for the Church to get with the plan. He has been dealing with us. We need to be listening.
