In the past few weeks I’ve noticed a few people post lists of songs for their birthdays. Things like “40 songs for 40 years.” I liked that thought so I compiled my own list. I won’t turn 60 for another year, so this is “59 songs for 59.”
It’s not in any particular order, with the exception of the last song, probably. I give some notes HERE.
Nothing profound. Just some fun. Sorry it is in iTunes if you use Spotify. I’ve drifted to more things Apple and that’s where I compile my music these days.
Listen HERE if you like.
I have been too much of a podcast, audiobook, talk radio kind of guy and not enough music. There are pieces and songs that deeply move me, but I’m not a great source for music. Sometimes I like the story of an artist or the story of a song. Sometimes the song is attached to a memory or a person.
In the last year I have found music has saved me because I made myself turn to it more and listen to podcasts less. It’s a season I needed. I will say classical music and jazz helped the most. Just listening to amazing arrangements and musicians was calming and healing.
This is definitely more my list and not a post to really have anything else to say. Although, if you have music you like and would like to share with me, please feel free!
