The visit without pictures

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. We are finishing a trip to Israel and I limited myself to a phone and typing with thumbs isn’t my thing. But I wanted to make one note before I get back to working on posts about the Israel trip.

I took hundreds of pictures on the trip. There is one place we couldn’t and it is a place now burned into my mind. Yad Vashem is the memorial to Holocaust victims and a center of study and remembrance. No pictures were allowed but the story is powerful.

We need to be reminded of the Holocaust because it was about the blatant, systematic attempt to exterminate an entire group of people. We need it TODAY. Nationalism and antisemitism and racism are deep and dangerous and to not pay attention will be devastating.

I will have far more later but needed to say this today in context of current news and events.
