2 Peter 1:2-11 is an all-time favorite passage. It is majestic. It is challenging. It is a high calling.
And… it is attainable. All we need to walk in this majestic calling has already been given.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life…” (v. 3)
We have all we need to “participate in the divine nature” (v. 4). This alone leaves me stunned every time I read it.
We build aspects of Kingdom character on top of one another, all because we have the power to do so, and we find our lives full of fruit. It is not about MY “personal salvation.” It is about bearing fruit in the Kingdom of God for the sake of others.
And I am left at the end of this passage breathless and all I can say is… WOW.
This is the great vision of who we are in the Kingdom of God. FILL this vision! No more excuses. No more false humility. All is ours. Our greatest gift to God and to humanity is to walk this way.
