Personal losses from COVID mount up

A friend from college, and a minister, passed away from COVID the other night. He was a resident advisor when I came to college. He was our Dean of Men when I graduated. His family is a precious family and to go through this is pain beyond anything I could know.

In our mourning, Lord, hear our prayer.

For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God,
whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
Job 19:25-27

O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that your servant, being raised with Christ, may know the strength of his presence and rejoice in his eternal glory; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
