Advent begins November 29. For those who are not familiar with the Church Calendar, this would be a good year to become familiar… and a fan.

Advent is a time of remembering the coming of the Lord for the first time and be reminded of the expectation of his Second Coming. It gets us ready for Christmas.

But the real reason you should jump in this year? It’s the new year on the Church Calendar. The traditional church year that goes back hundreds of years doesn’t pay attention to the calendar on your wall. In a year like 2020… with COVID and all the rest… who wouldn’t be in for starting the New Year over 30 days early?
