15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16)
Some notes I jotted down on this passage a few years ago:
There is a new standard. The old patterns are broken. Evil’s hold is broken. Holiness breaks the death grip that was on us and calls us into powerful obedience.
This can’t be reduced to “holy actions.” It is a holy life that is produced out of a transformed heart. Clean the inside of the cup and the outward will follow.
The inheritance in Christ we have is secure. It is FOR us. And our response needs to be more focused. We are to set our minds on what Christ has. It’s not life as usual. It is life with a depth of abundance that is not imagined before.
