The key to Pentecost

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4, ESV)

We need our lives consumed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We need the wind blowing away the junk that doesn’t belong. We need the fire to purify our lives as his holy vessels. We need the Spirit to take full control of our lives, even our speech.

Pentecost came because these people OBEYED. They trusted what Jesus said and simply obeyed. We don’t have a Pentecost, or a radically changed group, with a body of people willing to do what Jesus said to do.

Choose the path of obedience. If he says wait… wait. If he says go… go. Allow his Spirit to test you in obedience.
