The symbolism of the fig tree fits in the story Matthew tells us. 

Here is a tree looking good, but no fruit. Jesus looked at Jerusalem, at the Temple, and saw incredible beauty… but no fruit.

The lesson on prayer is always powerful for me. I am constantly challenged with the simplicity of Jesus addressing what seems to be impossible and saying, “Just ask.”

May my walk in this world not just “look good” but also produce fruit.

May my life of prayer carry the simplicity of the Kingdom. When Jesus asks me to pray and believe, I pray and I believe!
