Coming through Hebrews 11 and as we turn into the main point of Hebrews 12, I can hear the author of Hebrews fairly shouting: “Quit being so lazy in your faith!”
To look and see the incredible cloud of witnesses who gave so much… believing yet not receiving… and somehow that faith that moves the Kingdom forward is taken for granted? The author of Hebrews just sounds fed up!
We should be fed up. We’ve been handed so much in our faith… are we taking it for granted? Are we vigilant in our faith? Are we vigilant in our walk with God?
Are we awake?
There is a need to see … to hear … in a way that goes beyond the natural. There is a Kingdom “seeing” and Kingdom “hearing” I so desperately need. The Lord invites me to “see” and to “hear” and drops in special invitations from time to time. Those invitations are moments where the Spirit whispers, “There is more. Just keep walking.”
Lord, save me from my own laziness!
