One of the key lines out of the prayer Jesus taught was simple.

“Don’t let us be tested.” 

It’s not a matter of, “Help us not to fall when tested.” It is a prayer of truth: “Lord, don’t let us be tested.” This is a short prayer to recognize that without God we would head straight for temptation every time. We need our focus on seeking the face of God.

Our prayer shouldn’t be about “when” temptation happens. Our prayer should be a more honest understanding of our own weakness: “Lord, just keep me steered completely away.”
