I am preaching on Jacob this morning in a series called “Anchored in God.” The anchor I have observed in the life of Jacob is we see a love that will not let us go.
We need to understand the pursuit of a holy God. It’s not the holy pursuit of God on our part I think about when it comes to Jacob. It is God’s holy pursuit of us.
When we realize there is a God who loves us, we can talk about it… or we can respond.
I meet a lot of people who talk about the love of God and how they know “God is there” and “God loves them just like they are…”
Instead of just recognizing that “fact,” how about we DO something about it. Jacob did. The power of God finally tracked him down and Jacob finally responded.
Today, instead of simply talking about the radical love of God, and how you know God’s love won’t let you go… how about responding to that radical love?
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Col. 3:1-4)
