Does that even terrify us anymore? If God hid his face from us… would that terrify us?
What is an even more horrific thought to me is this:
Would we even notice?

Notice how verse 9 gives an excellent rationale for God to show up once again.

And God does indeed show up again for the psalmist. The psalmist was at least aware enough to the presence of God that he knew what is was to miss it!

If the psalmist is no longer around, God would then get no more praise.
