One of my daily practices is to wake up saying the Lord’s Prayer. As I begin to move around in the morning, I try to remember to slowly walk through the prayer and stop on key phrases so I can meditate more. It settles my heart and on anxious mornings when my mind is racing with things to do or bills to pay I am quickly settled into a mode of thankfulness rather than nervousness.
This morning it is “give us this day our daily bread.”
He is our “manna.” We have what we need for today. He is enough. I will not lack. I may not have an “overabundance” (in my own view), but I will have enough. His presence in my life is enough.
