One of my favorite movies is “Apollo 13”. As I watch I see people’s awe at amazing things like landing on the moon.
It seems we do not have that sense any more. We seem ho-hum about so many things.
Does anything give us a sense of “awe” anymore?

Birth always leaves me with that feeling.
The Apollo 13 landing happened in the early 60’s right?, that was before we were being inundated with information and images on HD , and satellite TV, before music videos, and Ipods. Back when they still had an ethics commitee. Now with computers, and the high speed internet you can watch everything and anything at lightning speed. Our senses have become dull, from the constant intake. But this is nothing new, and really there is nothing new under the sun.
I looked up the definition of Awe in Webster’s dictionary : A mixed feeling of reverence, fear and wonder, caused by something majestic, sublime, sacred.
In my understanding only God, The Great I AM is Awesome enough to be described this way.. Once we begin to see and understand Him as such our awe factor grows , and we can begin to see the beauty and the wonder in His creation.
One way I remind myself of His Awesomeness is to say -“This is the day that the Lord has made”,( it’s not man made, it’s God made, only God can make a day!). “I will rejoice and be glad in it, no matter what!”, I usually have something that is awe inspiring that day. Because my God set it up that way.
