Is Christianity Close to “Extinction?”

In the Middle East, there is a story that is never told. We get caught up in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and forget there are Christian brothers and sisters suffering for their beliefs.

This story sheds some light on what these brothers and sisters face day in and day out.

What I find disappointing is this comes out of England rather than the U.S. Our American Christianity is so caught up in the “conservative”/”liberal” divide, and Israel/Palestine and what the Bible says about the end times, we rarely think about our own brothers and sisters in the midst of this conflict.

In Pakistan, the murder last year of Shahbaz Bhatti, the country’s Catholic minister for minorities, “vividly reflected” religious intolerance in Pakistan.

Shortly after his death it emerged that Mr Bhatti had recorded a video in which he declared: “I am living for my community and for suffering people and I will die to defend their rights.

“I prefer to die for my principles and for the justice of my community rather than to compromise. I want to share that I believe in Jesus Christ, who has given his own life for us.”

Let us remember the Body of Christ today.

One response to “Is Christianity Close to “Extinction?””

  1. I have a belief in God that there always will be a remnant of believers in the midst of the persecution in all pockets of the world. That the religion of Christianity wlll not vanish from this earth. The more persecution takes place, the more believers will arise. Our LORD cannot be destroyed. People may be destroyed physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. but the spirit of the LORD living inside of every true believer and follower of their Savior cannot be destroyed. Overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of His testimony. His words will not go void and will not be spoken in vain. That’s what I trust in. I pray much for those suffering for His name’s sake, i pray for strength and encouragement that what they believe in and stand for regardless of how the outcome will be towards themselves, will be a living testimony to others that our GOD REIGNS . Honor goes to anyone who , like Stephen, takes up the plate as a martyr and a spokes person for Jesus Christ. Amen
