This article talks about yet another fight over having something overtly Christian in a public place and offending atheists and other non-Christian groups.
Whether a statue of Jesus should be allowed or not… I have no idea. Just looking at the picture in the article, I would say I’m offended by the portrayal myself. That’s an ugly statue. But I digress…
This is the paragraph I loved in the story:
“I could just say, `Hallelujah,”‘ Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, said Wednesday. “It was very obliging of the judge to let it proceed.”
That is just funny to me. An atheist, who doesn’t believe in God (my assumption, anyway), saying, literally, “Praise to God!”
That will keep me smiling for a long time.
