The Digital Divide

I blog. I have Facebook. I just got on Twitter. I have a Nook reader.

And I’m still not completely on board with digital Bibles and studying. For me, it’s still uneven. I have Logos Bible software, but really need some basic training to get that up and going. I have OliveTree reader for my Nook.

The upside for Logos is the resources. The upside for OliveTree is the ability to have something really accessible on my Nook. Logos is not “full blown” in their android application. Olive Tree is still uneven in its ability to sync between all devices.

HELP!

So, get over the fact I’m not getting some Apple product. (To switch now would be lavishly expensive.)

If you can understand I just am stuck with these types of devices, and you might have Logos or Olive Tree… and you happen to LOVE doing more things digital… how do you do it?

Olive Tree, for me, is the best right now for taking notes in the text. It syncs to Evernote, and I am completely sold on Evernote. (It doesn’t sync cleanly, but if I stay up to date on my syncing, it’s not a huge headache.) However, Olive Tree works best on my android products, NOT my PC. They need to do a lot of development there.

If you have moved more to digital study, how do you like it? What do you do to keep things more “seamless?”

  1. I have never used Olive Tree, but I use Logos and love it. Although, I am like most users and completely underutilize its capabilities. I do have a Mac and an iPhone which Logos works pretty good on, but it is just too much of a pain to do any serious study, highlighting, note taking on because the screen is too small on a phone. I use my Kindle Fire some, but I am not sure you can highlight or take notes.

I love the idea of a sync with Evernote since I use it all the time, but I do not think Logos does that.

I tend you just use my laptop for any serious study because the screen size and keyboard are much more ideal for cross referencing and checking out multiple resources at the same time.

    1. Do you just keep your notes on Logos? I would like Logos to sync to something else a little better. Olive Tree to Evernote is a nice thing because I can have Evernote on my Nook. Logos on Android doesn’t transfer my notes. Just a little bit of an aggravation.
