Our precious faith requires a response. It is not our faith, but the faith given to us. It is precious.
Peter describes our faith as more valuable than gold (1 Pet. 1:7). It is genuine faith that will bring praise, glory and honor when Christ is revealed. We live in this precious faith to praise of HIS glory.
This precious faith requires a response. Peter is very clear how that should look.
13 Therefore, once you have your minds ready for action and you are thinking clearly, place your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14 Don’t be conformed to your former desires, those that shaped you when you were ignorant. But, as obedient children, 15 you must be holy in every aspect of your lives, just as the one who called you is holy. 16 It is written, You will be holy, because I am holy. (1 Pet. 1:13-16, CEB)
This faith is worth a response.
This is a Kingdom that calls out for our allegiance. The question is will we respond? The treasure of the Kingdom is delivered to us. Will we enter in?
We need to hear the call of this allegiance. It is a call that boldly says, “Live in this way.” (1 Peter 1:18a, CEB)
