This is the last week! Just six days to Christmas!
In those days may we reflect on the JOY that Christmas brings. Our Savior came! Our Savior is coming again.
As we approach Christmas Eve and Christmas it is a time of singing. I always anticipate singing “Joy to the World” on Christmas. We sing as our King comes.
Zephaniah reminds us that we are not the only ones singing.
17 The LORD your God is in your midst—
a warrior bringing victory.
He will create calm with his love;
he will rejoice over you with singing. (Zeph. 3:17, CEB)
The image of a big burly warrior singing over me is something that just seems odd at times…
But what I need to understand more is that God truly is delighting in me. He delights in us!
Yesterday I preached on “Favored Ones” out of the Luke 1 text. All through the sermon I wanted my congregation to know just how much they mean to God! And we also need to understand the impossible becomes possible as we submit to his will. WE are favored.
During the altar time a word was brought to me personally letting me know that while I was trying to speak this love over my congregation, my Savior was speaking this love over me as well. It was an overwhelming moment. God was singing over me.
REJOICE! Our Savior comes!
REJOICE! Because he is rejoicing over you!
REMINDER: You can still take an opportunity to win a copy of the Common English Bible. HERE are the rules for me. Blessings!
