An Anglicostal Connecting to a Real World
This word of David Wilkerson’s passing is just coming out.
For better or worse, this man stood as a watchman on the wall of our nation and prophetically pastored a church in Manhattan that is doing an amazing work today. His words have angered me, challenged me, and brought me to my knees.
The Church in America has suffered a loss.
Agreed. Hard to imagine…
He wrote on of the first Christian books I ever read. While there were times I sometimes questioned his later words; I never doubted him as great example of a Lord’s servant.
No doubt there were times just about everyone had some problem with something Wilkerson said. Two things I will never forget about his ministry and prophetic writing, though.
1. “Set the Trumpet to Thy Mouth” was life-changing for me the moment I read it.
2. I remember remember reading another book where he talked about economic collapse. The very day I read that book the Dow took a nosedive of 500 plus points and they had to suspend trading. It was so surreal.
