The past few weeks I’ve noticed some different posts about the Church and the academy. This week the school where I teach part time hosted an Undergraduate Bible and Theology Conference. The main speaker was Dr. Karen Jobes. Her talk on Thursday night was incredible. As a pastor and instructor, I found her words incredibly insightful.

I will probably post some of her quotes from time to time because they were so great to digest.

One for now: “Everything we do know about God teaches us to trust him for everything we do not know.”

In others words, we need to get over ourselves and our pride. We think we have to figure it all out theologically, and we can’t. When we know God we can trust him for what we simply do not know, or will not know!
