    St. Simeon the New Theologian gave some insights into prayer. There is a “holy vigilance” that needs to take place. We don’t just walk into prayer, so to speak. We are to give attention to the life of prayer.

    I came across a gem of a book called Writings from the Philokalia: On Prayer of the Heart. It is a collection of writings from Fathers of the Eastern Church from about the 4th to the 14th centuries.
