“our hearts are restless till they find their rest in thee” (St. Augustine) The battle is for the heart. Jesus came to give life and give it more abundantly. Satan only comes ti kill, steal and destroy. Our hearts, the innermost being of who we are, have two places to live: in the abundance of Christ or the barrenness of…

What a great birthday present! On New Year’s Day (my birthday) we were traveling back home from seeing my parents. When I checked the mail, I noticed a packaged. Could it be? Could this be what Zondervan had promised for months and months and had not delivered? Was this the order that Amazon said wouldn’t ship until FEBRUARY? YES! IT…

One thing is so clear through the laws of God: OBEDIENCE WILL LEAD TO ABUNDANCE. When God’s people were living in obedience EVERYONE had provision. Those who owned land would have good crops. They…

The War We do not Want to Talk About
It’s not Iraq. It’s spiritual. As Christians, we have become lazy once again, blind to the spiritual war around us. The ones getting hurt the most are our missionaries. Missionaries we currently support, or new ones trying to get to the field, are not getting their financial support raised. Our common response has become, “Just give more money!” Small churches…

The internet, like any other vehicle, cuts both ways. One of the dangers I always see is how using the internet continually highlights how our society has become less and less discerning. We have lost all sense of decorum in our culture, and the internet only keeps on proving it. I have problems with the social websites like facebook and…
