I reflected HERE about the challenge of hearing the Lord calling out to us. We’re not always listening, but he is always calling. The question that needs to stay before us is this: How do we discern the voice of the Lord in our own lives?

The unfolding of the glory of the Lord doesn’t mean everyone is looking
The season of Epiphany this year has challenged me. The truth is the Lord is always wanting to speak. We are not always willing to listen. My heart is not always tuned to the frequency of his voice.

There isn’t a substitute
We are in the season of Epiphany. It is about the revealing of God’s glory. It is the Lord manifesting his glory among his people and among the nations. This is a season I am praying for a fresh unfolding of God’s glory in this dark world.

We are not called to “save” the world
A phrase, among many phrases, I would love to remove from Christianese vocabulary: “world changers.” We are not called to “change the world.” We are called to follow Christ, the One who is the world changer.

On reading (and counting) books

Learning the principles of the Kingdom of God
I truly miss the voice of Dallas Willard. He unfolded the richness of the Kingdom of God in such a humble, yet majestic, way. His vision for the Kingdom was immense and the longer I walk with the Lord the more of what Dallas saw many years ago unfolds in my own life.

Feast of Epiphany
Since 2021, this date carries two significant remembrances. One is eternal and beautiful. The other, a dark reminder of the dangers of nationalism over the Kingdom of God. For me, it is important to remember both. But celebrate one.
