Almighty God, on this day, through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, you revealed the way of eternal life to every race and nation: Pour out this gift anew, that by the preaching of the Gospel your salvation may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

This day in this time, Lord, we need the wind of the Spirit blowing through, ripping away all that doesn’t belong. We need the fire of the your Spirit burning off all that has crowded our lives. Burn down our idols. Our lust for power. Our greed. Our consumerism. Our hatred.

The Church needs a deep work of the Spirit again. Today, let your fire fall in a fresh way.
