Just as the last post I shared a podcast on someone wrestling with their faith/theology/public belief, etc., and had areas I that resonated with me, this podcast is much the same.
Mike Cosper is known now for his very powerful podcast series, The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. I write this with Mark Driscoll still making his own headlines and it is tempting to write on that whole hot mess… but I refrain. Cosper knew his own hurt and loss in ministry and there are things in this podcast that struck a chord. He hasn’t left the faith. He hasn’t left the Church.
We can deconstruct… and reconstruct. What has remained constant with me over the last 10 years has been this: I love Jesus deeply and because he is the Head of the Church, and thus not a “detached” head, I love the Church. I don’t like everything about the Church, but I love the Church.
