I referred to this podcast in my last post, but had not listened to the second half of the episode. Now I’ve listened and know Todd Deatherage, who is interviewed in this podcast, and it is TRULY worth your time.

Todd is with the Telos Group and it is phrase I use constantly these days: Pro-Israeli, Pro-Palestinian, Pro-peace.

As conservative white Christians we have allowed conservative Republican politics dictate how we see “Israel” for the past 4 decades. What we don’t then do is now see Israel as some “apartheid” aggressor or “colonial power.” (We are prone to wild swings and I just won’t do this.) What we need to do is revisit our theology and separate our politics and understand we can love people and really be critical of their governments.

Our pre-tribulation rapture theology dominated for so long, Todd even makes the case that in some respects that theology is antisemitic.

It’s worth the listen.
