On the road — still

We’ve had a year of travel taking us to family and friends and destinations and adventures. This is our longest time on the road at one time. We’re full of joy as we leave Minneapolis, which was our home for almost 20 years.

“Home” always has different connotations for people. For me, “home” has been about a sense of place, with family, and forging deep friendships. We have deep roots in Minneapolis from our 20 years there. Those roots were apparent to us on this trip.

We were able to spend a good deal of time with our sons and their spouses along with friends who took time out of their schedules to meet us for lunch or coffee or dinner. Our hearts are refreshed from wonderful conversations. From long time mentors to those we hoped to have helped make their way into adulthood, we’ve had an incredibly rich time.

And being on the road has us ready for “home.” Where we live now. Where family is as well. Where new friendships are being forged. But most of all… it’s us. My wife and myself. It is having each other. And it’s having each other in a place.

Home.

Thank you, Minnesota home. This is still a place close to my heart. I’ve loved reconnecting to the city, reconnecting face to face with friends, and deepening our time with our family here.

Thank you for the conversations, your time, your love, dear friends and our dear family!

On to the next leg of the journey. More family. More deepening of connections. More joy.
